Wine: a compatibility layer for running Windows applications on Linux will soon be available on Android. It will allow users to run applications originally written for Windows Phone on devices powered by Google’s Android mobile operating system. Although, when demonstrated at the FOSDEM conference (Free and Open source Software Developers’ European Meeting) on an Android emulator it was criticised for being “horrendously slow” when trying to run a Windows app on Android.
