Twitter is said to be creating geo-targeted ads for retailers
Twitter, the popular online social networking service, is planning to let brands show promoted tweets to people who access its mobile app within close range of their stores. The geo-targeted ads are intended to increase footfall to stores by enticing potential customers with exclusive offers etc and may be ready to use by the end of the year.
Twitter doing more geo-targeted marketing has potential beyond just bringing more footfall to shops; with strong mobile traction, it’s a way to make discovery even more relevant, not only relevant ad content but things like relevant events as well.
