Samsung smartphone sales topped $23.63 billion in Q1 2013
A report from Yonhap News has revealed Samsung was the world’s number one smartphone seller (in terms of revenue) for the first three months of this year as it topped $23.63 billion, overtaking Apple who had occupied the top spot in the previous quarter. This was as a result of Apple being $7.71 billion down from the previous quarter with $22.95 billion worth of smartphone sales.
However, Apple did rank first in terms of operating income earned by handset makers globally in the first quarter, taking a 31% share. Samsung came in second with a 21.8% share, LG third with 4.1%, followed by Sharp with 3%.
