2025 officially marks our 15th anniversary as an agency. We’ve come a long way—from our roots in Bath to our global headquarters in Seattle—while pushing the boundaries of what developer marketing can achieve for the organizations we work with.

Expertise Through Innovation: The Catchy Story
Catchy launched as a mobile marketing agency in 2010 under the leadership of Richard Hurring and a small, UK-based team. The focus shifted to the developer space in time for the rise of the app economy and APIs, as the team recognized a need for specialized marketing that catered to technical audiences.
Over time, we began building fully integrated developer programs and partnering with some of the biggest names in technology. From supporting Google with developer outreach to helping Amazon scale its ecosystem, we’ve consistently delivered measurable results.
In 2020, Global Headquarters moved to Seattle, and the agency expanded following the acquisition of go-to-market firm Convoke. Transitioning from a small team to a global agency was a pivotal moment, enabling us to deliver developer marketing solutions for a greater range of clients. That said, our work is still powered by a commitment to helping brands thrive in a time when technical expertise is more important than ever.

The Future of Developer Marketing: What’s Next for Catchy?
2025 marks another major milestone for Catchy: Founder Richard Hurring has passed the role of CEO onto longtime Managing Partner Gary Gonzalez. An experienced strategist, marketer, and business leader (recently recognized at the 2024 Developer Marketing Awards), Gary has already taken the reigns to start the next chapter of our agency. Richard remains an integral part of Catchy in his new role as Chairman.
