Mobile consumer spending is expected to more than double over the course of the next year as it is reported that m-commerce (on phones and tablets) has already risen 55% compared to a year ago.
However, the research conducted by eBay has also shown that the sector is being held back by speed and connectivity problems. It is expected that the arrival of 4G, offering speeds around five times faster, could contribute to a possible 115% uplift in the coming 12 months. Senior Director of m-commerce at eBay Europe: Olivier Ropars claims 4G will allow for a ‘more immersive, instant and intimate shopping experience than ever before’.
