Microsoft schedules BUILD 2014

Microsoft is returning to San Francisco next year to host its BUILD developer conference. Microsoft will host its developer event on April 2nd through to the 4th, according to a brief posting on its site. Developers will be able to register for the event on January 14th at 12PM ET, and Microsoft is likely to show off its latest work across Windows, Windows Phone, and Xbox. The company is currently preparing a Windows Phone 8.1 update for release early next year, alongside similar spring updates to Windows 8.1 and Xbox One.

With the acquisition of Nokia’s phone business expected to close in early 2014, it could be a busy developer conference for Microsoft. The software maker released a preview of its Windows 8.1 update during BUILD 2013, alongside improvements to Bing and its developer tools.

We’ll keep you updated on any developments.
