Google released fresh stats today for the adoption of its most recent Android release, KitKat. Since Google’s last announcement, KitKat’s share of the Android market has doubled in size — from just 2.5 percent to 5.3 percent.
As you can see, although KitKat has doubled its market share, it is still dwarfed by Jelly Bean which is the most popular Android operating system. The fragmentation of Android is still lingering despite Google’s best efforts to cater to older devices.
