Catchy, the leading developer marketing agency, seeks a highly skilled Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on API documentation, and possess a deep understanding of modern tools and methodologies for managing and producing technical documentation

What You Will Do
- Collaborate with development teams, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather information and understand complex technical concepts related to APIs.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation, including tutorials, guides, API reference docs, and other technical materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Develop a deep understanding of the APIs and their functionality to accurately communicate their features, capabilities, and best practices to developers and users.
- Identify and fill documentation gaps by conducting independent research, interviews, and hands-on exploration of the APIs.
- Proactively engage with development teams to ensure timely updates and revisions to the documentation based on API changes and enhancements.
- Implement best practices and style guides to maintain a consistent tone, structure, and format across all technical documentation.
- Stay up to date with industry standards and trends in API documentation, and recommend improvements and new approaches for enhancing the documentation process.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure documentation aligns with branding, marketing messaging, and overall company goals.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of documentation infrastructure, tools, and workflows, exploring and implementing the best options for managing and maintaining technical documentation.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior technical writers, sharing knowledge and best practices to promote professional growth within the team.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer, with a focus on API documentation.
- Strong knowledge of APIs and experience writing tutorials, guides, and API reference docs.
- Familiarity with modern tools and platforms for managing, maintaining, and producing detailed technical documentation (e.g., Swagger, Git, Markdown, Jekyll, Sphinx, Read the Docs, etc.).
- Experience working with API providers and managing API documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality documentation.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience in driving continuous improvement in documentation processes and workflows.
- Experience mentoring and providing guidance to junior team members is a plus.
