Apple granted patent that can tell you whether to text or call your friends
Apple Insider reports that Apple has been granted a patent for a technology that will automatically tell users what specific form of communication they ought to use when trying to get in touch with a contact.
The technology, granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, will select the best method of contacting another person, be it through voice, text or email, based on a given situation. For example, if you were trying to call a friend and they happened to be driving at the time you would be advised to text them instead. It also allows you to control your own settings, so that if you’re at the workplace, your phone will assume you’re working, and automatically advise those on your contact list to email or text you.
Examples of monitoring devices include GPS, personal computers, microphones and web cameras. Using the data provided by these devices, the contacting service can automatically determine a user’s location and likely situation.
