Facebook have launched a video format for Instagram, allowing users to edit and share clips. This is certainly competition for Vine, a well known app that allows you to capture short video clips stitch them together and play them on loop. Vine was launched by Twitter in January and passed 13 million users this month, however, Instagram already has a strong following with 130 million users on its photo sharing app.
Instagram offers the choice of 13 filters to create various vintage tones on each shot, and includes a built-in stabiliser called Cinema feature to limit the shaky home video feel in the hope of a more professional finish. When you go to take a photo on Instagram, you’ll now see a movie camera icon where you can take up to fifteen seconds of video through the Instagram camera.
