According to data collected by Fiksu, a mobile app marketing company, the price of gaining new loyal mobile app users in the US rose to its highest in July to $1.80 which is up by 20 percent from June; making July the most expensive month for marketing apps since December 2011. Fiksu believes the rise is due to two trends, the increase of brands using Facebook‘s mobile app advertising platform in turn increasing competition and cost, and Apple‘s change to App Store rankings.
These factors improve the chances of the best-rated apps moving up the charts. However, mid and low rated app developers must not only make great apps but also spend more money to improve their rankings by advertising to the appropriate users.
